Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2017 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Manas epic presented in German in the version of famous German scholar-researcher, linguist and turkologist William Radlov in Berlin, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Radlov version of the Manas epic was published in 1885 in St. Petersburg with the support of the commissioners of the Royal Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, Riga and Leipzig.
After many years, the part of Manas epic by Radlov in German was re-issued in Berlin with the support of the Honorary Consuls of Kyrgyzstan in Germany at the initiative of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Germany.
Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Bremen, Dr. Eberhard Haas made special contribution to this publication, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Germany Erines Otorbaev stressed the importance of Manas epic, which reflects the history, culture and traditions of Kyrgyz people.
Representatives of the Office of the Chancellor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Bundestag, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora and a wide range of public of Germany took part in the presentation.
The event was held by the Kyrgyz Embassy in the framework of the presidential decree "On the Establishment of the Days of History and the Memory of the Ancestors". The presentation was also very symbolic in the year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Germany.
