Manas epic presented in Kazakh language in Nur-Sultan

Bishkek, June 10, 2021 . / Kabar / . The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan city hosted a presentation of a new book of the only narrator of Manas epic in Kazakhstan and poet Bayangali Alimzhanov.

The press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry reported that Manas - Semetei and Seitek book was presented in Kazakh language.

Poet Alimzhanov combined three parts of Manas epic into one version Manas - Semetei and Seitek to make the content of the book more understandable and accessible and to attract more attention of readers, especially the younger generation of Kazakhs.

In 2020, narrator Bayangali Alimzhanov translated and presented the epic in the Kazakh language.

In March 2021, for his great contribution to the development and popularization of Kyrgyz epic Manas in Kazakhstan, as well as to strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov awarded Bayangali Alimzhanov with the state award - the Order "Dostuk".

The Epic of Manas is a traditional epic poem dating to the 18th century but claimed by the Kyrgyz people to be much older.

The plot of Manas revolves around a series of events that coincide with the history of the region in the 9th century, primarily the interaction of the Kyrgyz people with Turkic and Chinese people.
