Tashkent, Oct. 5, 2017 / Kabar /. Popular writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Beksultan Zhakiyev’s version of Manas epic has been translated into Uzbek, author of the translation, famous Uzbek manasologist, candidate of philological sciences Zukhritdin Isamutdinov told Kabar Agency.
He said that until now the Manas epic has been translated and published in the Uzbek language four times. For the first time the translation of the first chapters of the first book of the first part of the epic was made by four translators, employees of the republican newspaper "Kyrgyzstanstanskaya Pravda" in 1958.
The first book of the epic was translated by outstanding Uzbek poet Mirtemir and published in 1964. The volume of this translation is about 13,500 verses. The second book of this part was translated by Sultan Akbari, it was published in 1987. Finally, in 1995 Tursunbai Adashbaev published a translation of the prose transcription of the epic for children.
"This version of the Manas epic consists of 18 thousand verses. At present the manuscript is in the publishing house and is awaiting publication in the near future. In any case, this translation is another basis for further research on the originality of the genre of the Manas epic," he concluded.
