Manas Int’l Airport’s net profit reaches KGS 1.6M in first half of 2021

Bishkek, July 29, 2021 . / Kabar /. According to a preliminary results of financial and economic activity, Manas International Airport (MIA) OJSC received a net profit of KGS 1 billion 657 million 936 thousand in the first half of 2021, the press service of the company reported.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov set the task to increase the number of flights, expand the geography of flights, reduce the price of air tickets, as well as to increase the profitability of MIA OJSC.

In relation to the first half of 2019, which was considered the most successful in the history of the airport, the increase in this indicator amounted to KGS 606 million 609 thousand.

Thus, in 2019, the income for six months was KGS 2 billion 384 million 630 thousand , in 2020 – KGS 1 billion 720 million 332 thousand , and this year – KGS 3 billion 191 million 666 thousand.

"We have not just increased the number of flights - we have attracted new airlines who previously did not fly to Kyrgyzstan at all. Many new flights were opened to countries and cities with which we did not have air links before,” Bakyt Sharsheyev, the General Director of MIA OJSC said.

New routes to Turkestan (Kazakhstan) were opened, flights to Sharjah (UAE), Kuwait and Mashhad (Iran) were resumed. Relations were established with such airlines as Nordwind and Rossiya, which provided direct routes to cities with millions of residents in Russia, as well as the Kazakh low-cost airline Fly Arystan.

In addition, the company has increased the number of flights within the country. For example, the airport increased the number of flights to Batken and Isfana up to 3 flights per week, providing an opportunity to reach the capital of Kyrgyzstan and remote regions of the country in 1 hour.
