"The issue of the border is one of the most important issues for us today. Every effort is being made to resolve it. Recently a decision was made to completely stop movement across the state border with Tajikistan until the problematic issues are resolved. Along with solving the issues of border delimitation and demarcation, we have set the goal of strengthening our borders. To this end, we are creating all the necessary conditions for our border guards. Local residents also play a key role in strengthening the state border. So I ask for your patience and understanding. Once again, our main goal is to improve the life of ordinary people," Ulukbek Maripov said.
Further, the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers inspected the Karamyk border outpost and familiarized with the progress of construction of the new checkpoint Karamyk – Avtodorozhnyi.
Border, customs, sanitary-quarantine, veterinary-phytosanitary and veterinary control is carried out at the checkpoint.
The main part of construction at the site was completed in April, and the checkpoint was handed over to the customs service. The checkpoint will be fully commissioned after the completion of all construction work.
