Despite the steps taken, we still face unacceptable obstacles to the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor for the common economic space, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers Ulukbek Maripov said during a regular extended format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
The meeting is taking place in Cholpon-Ata town of Issyk-Kul Oblast.
The chairman of the Cabinet added that heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Council (EAEU) have repeatedly noted the need to strengthen the role of the Eurasian Economic Commission in eliminating obstacles in the domestic market.
"In this regard, I would like to draw the Commission's attention to the change in its functional role. The recent downward trend in the Commission's role in identifying obstacles and removing barriers is not good for Eurasian integration. I hope that the goals of the Union for the implementation of free movement of goods, services, capital and labor resources in the EAEU space will be achieved," said Ulukbek Maripov.
EAEU heads of government are considering 14 issues approved on the agenda.
On Aug. 19-20, Cholpon-Ata town of Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul Oblast is hosting the regular meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council.
The prime ministers of EAEU member state will consider a number of topical issues in the framework of the integration association.
