Marmot hunting season opens in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Aug. 7, 2020 / Kabar /. The marmots hunting season has opened in Kyrgyzstan.

Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Mirslav Amankulov signed a corresponding order, the press service of the agency reported.

The hunting season for marmot will last until Sept. 1, 2020.

The events are carried out for the rational use of marmot resources, its protection, reproduction and streamlining of the extraction on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the press service said.

Three types of marmot live on the territory of Kyrgyzstan: gray marmot, red marmot and Menzbir's marmot, listed in the Red Book.

At present, the number of marmots living in Kyrgyzstan is 341 thousand 425 heads.
