Mass events cancelled in Bishkek due to COVID-19

Bishkek, April 20, 2021 . / Kabar /. Mass events on City Day and Victory Day have been cancelled in Bishkek, the press service of the capital’s Mayor’s Office reported.

The decision was made during a meeting of the City Emergency Anti-Epidemic and Anti-Epizootic Commission.

"The epidemiological situation in the capital city remains tense. A total of 32,649 cases of coronavirus infection and pneumonia, including 117 new cases on April 20, have been registered in Bishkek for the entire period of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, for the safety of the citizens it was decided not to conduct public events in honor of the City Day - April 29 and Victory Day - May 9," the report said.

The Bishkek Mayor’s Office urges citizens to observe sanitary norms: wear masks, strengthen personal hygiene, systematically treat hands with antiseptic, and most importantly - limit visits to public places and keep a distance.
