Mass extinction of trout in fish breeding farm as a result of fuel spill on Chychkan river

Bishkek, Jan. 23, 2018 / Kabar /. 2.5 thousand trout were killed in the Chychkan river, in Toktogul region of Jalal-Abad oblast, the press service of the State Ecological Inspectorate reported.

It is reported that fish began to die in one of the water farms due to the fact that 38 tons of gasoline was spilled into the river.

The total damage is 950 thousand soms. To determine the causes and studies, fish samples were sent to the laboratory of the veterinary inspection.

Water samples were sent for inspection to the laboratory of the Environmental Protection Agency. At the time of checking the Toktogul reservoir, dangerous situations were not identified.

At the moment, all relevant materials have been handed over to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Toktogul region for taking action against responsible persons for damage to the environment.

On Jan. 21, a fuel tanker fell on the Chychkan river at the Bishkek-Osh highway. As a result, about 38 tons of gasoline was spilled into the Chychkan river.

As is known, there are several fish breeding private farms on the Chychkan river. Mass extinction of fish is recorded on one of these farms.
