Maternal mortality in Kyrgyzstan reduces

Bishkek, Feb.25, 2020. /Kabar/. Upon the totals of 2019, maternal mortality in Kyrgyzstan decreased, Madamin Karatayev, Deputy Minister of Health of the republic told reporters.

According to his data, 44 women in childbirth died last year.

"The maternal mortality rate, according to operational data, was 27.8 per 100 thousand live births, while for the same period in 2018 52 women died, the figure was 30.4; a decrease of 8.6%.

As in 2018, extragenital disorders ranked first in the structure of causes of maternal mortality - 14 cases or 31.8 % (in 2018, 15 cases - 28.8 %), and in 2019 the obstetrical bleeding rate increased - 10 cases or 22.7 % (in 2018, 7 cases - 12.5 %).

The embolism with amniotic water and anaphylactic shock were recorded in 4 cases or 9.1% (in 2018 - 9 - 17.3%)," Deputy Health Minister Karatayev said.
