Mayor of Bishkek, heads of sports schools discuss development of sports in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2019. /Kabar/. On February 22, Mayor of the capital Aziz Surakmatov and Chairman of Bishkek City Kenesh (Council) Janybek Abirov met the leaders of the city’s sports schools.

During the meeting acting head of the department of physical culture and sports, Meyirkhan Amanbekov told that the structure of the system of physical culture and sports includes 11 specialized children’s-youth schools of the Olympic reserve and one children’s-youth school. 423 trainers and teachers work in sports schools, and 7,929 students are engaged in 28 sports.

He also noted that the School League sports program is continuing in Bishkek. The first season of the school league sports program is over. A total of 15 sports in this project involved about 15 thousand students. The winners in 15 kinds of sports were determined - 360 students from 33 schools of the city.

The meeting was held in the form of a dialogue. Each director could talk about the problems of his school and make his suggestions for the development of sports. Among the main problems were highlighted the need to build new sports complexes, repair of school buildings, purchase of sports uniforms for students and equipment for training and other issues.

In addition, school principals noted that in this format the meeting had been held for the first time and thanked for their attention.

The meeting was also attended by the directors of sports schools, head of the municipal property department Talant Imanakun uulu, head of the capital construction department Ulan Azygaliyev, acting head of Bishkek Department of Finance Umutjan Amanbayev, deputy heads of districts for social issues, employees of the department of physical culture and sports.

The mayor carefully listened to all the questions and suggestions and thanked the teachers for the detailed conversation, and also noted that sport in the capital should be developed through joint efforts and improve the promotion of healthy lifestyle among citizens.
