Bishkek, May 30, 2024. /Kabar/. Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev held negotiations with Mayor of Chengdu (People's Republic of China) Wang Fengchao.
According to the press service of the capital's mayor's office, the parties expressed confidence that effective Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic cooperation is being built between the leadership of the two countries and intercity ties are actively strengthening and expanding.
The Bishkek mayor emphasized the intensification of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations in recent years and noted that deepening bilateral cooperation with Chengdu is important and priority for Bishkek.
In turn, Wang Fengchao proposed improving trade and economic cooperation, as well as opening a representative office of Bishkek in Chengdu to further promote investment initiatives and trade and economic ties.
“This is my first visit to Bishkek. The city is young, fashionable and prosperous,” he said.
Aibek Dzhunushaliev added that future investment projects will be related to the spheres of transport, culture and housing and communal services.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
The cities of Bishkek and Chengdu were related on October 24, 2023 as part of the official visit of the head of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang to Kyrgyzstan.
