Bishkek, July 6 / Kabar /. In Moscow (Russian Federation) within the framework of participation of the delegation of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office in the Moscow urban forum 2017, Bishkek Mayor Albek Ibraimov met with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Kyrgyz Ambassador to the Russian Federation Bolot Otunbayev, Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Erkinbek Isakov, employees of the Bishkek Mayor's Office and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation participated in the meeting, the press service of the Bishkek Mayor's Office reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of cooperation with the Moscow government in the development and implementation of the components of the "Smart City" project, studying the experience of Moscow in overcoming new challenges related to the urbanization of cities, developing practical ties in all areas of cooperation.
In addition, Sobyanin proposed to consider the issue of concluding an additional agreement between the funds of compulsory medical insurance for the provision of medical services to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation (on a paid basis), and also expressed readiness to provide assistance in the field of education, in particular, raising the skills of teachers.
Following the meeting, the heads of cities signed the Cooperation Program for 2018-2020 on the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Moscow and the Bishkek Mayor’s Office on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation dated June 27, 1997.
