Meat production increased by 1.7% in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2021. / Kabar / . In November 2021, business entities of all categories produced 299.0 thousand tons of meat in live weight, which is 4,959 tons or 1.7% more compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan said Tuesday.

The increase in meat production in the republic is due to the growth of livestock, except pigs and poultry.

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of Jan. 1, 2021 the number of cattle has increased by 35.0 thousand heads and amounted to 1715.7 thousand heads, sheep and goats - by 11.9 thousand heads and amounted to 6278.7 thousand heads. The number of pigs decreased by 5,300 and amounted to 29,400 heads and the number of poultry decreased by 140,700 and amounted to 6070,400 heads.

All regions of the republic produced more meat than the corresponding period in 2020.
