Abu Dhabi, Nov. 17, 2022 / Kabar/. Media is very important to distribute tolerance messages, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) told Kabar.
In an interview, held on the sidelines of the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, speaking about the future of the media industry and UAE's role in it, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi noted the importance of such platform as the Global Media Congress.
“I think today on the last day of the Global Media Congress we can see how its important to build a place that we can talk together and build a network together and try to not only think about the future, but also think how we can have a connection with the world. So that’s a very important thing.
And other thing is that we are trying to come together with the new initiatives that can fit in the future of the media.
We are happy that we are having people from around the world here talking about their experiences, sharing the information that we have with others, sharing their concern, coming up with a new idea, having the chance also for young generation to be trained, to give them the opportunity to be ready for the future. So it’s a multi things that we have and this is that leading us that the UAE can play a good role to bring people together to give them also the opportunity for the future of the media and their places and also can give them a clear vision for the future of the media,” Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi said.
Speaking about the tolerance and coexistence, the director general of WAM highlighted the role of media in distributing tolerance messages.
“I think that one of the important things that we have to think every time as a media that we have to go back to our human natural, which is we all are human and we have differences and we have common things, why we always focus on differences, why we don’t focus on other things that we have, common things that we have. So, tolerance is important and coexistence is important for us all in the media, because when you have words in the media creating such a hate between people, between countries or nationalities, between colours, the stay with the people and create a lot of problems, a lot of also crimes, a lot of hate between people and others, so the media is very important to distribute tolerance messages and news and also showcase not only problems, wars, crisis, show also the tolerance story and nice story between people who are living, human stories, success stories, positive stories. That will create a different kind of human. When we will get up in the morning and saw bad news you might all day will be in bad mood sometimes, how about if we have a good news every day that will change our mood, that will give us positive energy for work, for anything,” Director General of the Emirates News Agency Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi said.
