Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2021. / Kabar /. Media representatives from the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) member states shared their views on strengthening cooperation during the SCO Media Forum 2021 held via videoconfernecing.
The Media Forum of leading media "For a Common Future and Mutual Understanding" was organized by the Shanghai United Media Group (SUMG) and The Paper news platform.
SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov speaking at the forum noted that the media have a profound impact on relations between states. "Strengthening the cooperation between the mainstream media of the member states will help to narrow the relationship between the member states and their people," he said.
The participants of the event, representatives of eight SCO member-countries stressed the role of media in strengthening relations between the countries, in the development of the SCO and the importance of cooperation and interaction in coping with the new challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic.
SUMG CEO Chen Qiwei said that the SCO media outlets can integrate resources, publish detailed reports on the significant progress made by the SCO member states, and take advantage of media cooperation to further build a bridge for rapprochement between peoples.
