Media should add more content about tolerance – deputy DG of WAM

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 19, 2022 / Kabar/. Deputy Director General of the Emirates News Agency Ali Al Saad, in an interview to Kabar News Agency, told about the tolerance and the aim of the document signed during the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 15-17.

“As you can see here at the Congress yesterday we opened the first session to talk about the tolerance His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, our Minister of Tolerance gave a very nice speech telling everybody that UAE is the land for everybody. We are proud that we have more than 200 nationalities here. We are proud that everybody is living in peace in the United Arab Emirates. The congress and sessions yesterday and today will focus on these points and telling everybody that tolerance is very important thing. And also yesterday we announced the signing of MoU with align of the tolerance. More 42 news agencies and media entities signed it and they will add more content about tolerance in their news content.

The aim of this document is that all who signed this MoU will work together to add more content, more news. Because we are talking about the content and the news, about the tolerance, we are not talking about only stories written there. We have to focus on and add more photos, videos, reports about tolerance. So, this MoU will focus and everybody will work from his side to distribute more content about tolerance in different languages and this is what we are working on this MoU,” Ali Al Saad said.

The Emirates News Agency has launched the ‘Tolerance Charter for News Agencies and Media Outlets’, a document aimed to unite media entities from across the globe around promoting tolerance, coexistence and intercultural dialogue through enhancing international cooperation.

The charter, which announced during the second day of the inaugural edition of the Global Media Congress, was ratified by representatives of dozens of news agencies and media outlets from around the world to enhance the dissemination of news and media content that boost the spread of tolerance and coexistence as core human values.
