Meeting held between heads of Kyrgyz, Tajik border regions

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . A meeting was held on Wednesday on the border of Kyrgyz village of Orto-Boz and Khoji-Alo village of Tajikistan between Presidential envoy in Batken Oblast Abdikarim Alimbayev and representative of authorities in Sughd Region of Tajikistan Rajabba Ahmadzoda.

The press service of the Batken Oblast state administration reported that the meeting was also attended by representatives of law enforcement bodies of both countries, head of Batken region (Kyrgyzstan) Uchkunbek Jorobayev, head of Isfara Region (Tajikistan) Bahovadin Bahodurzoda.

As a result of the meeting, the following decisions were made:

1. Prohibition of construction work in the vicinity of conditional boundaries,

2. If livestock passes the boundary, the parties must return it,

3. State agencies of both countries must work together to stop smuggling,

4. On water use issues, heads of border regions - Batken and Isfara - will have to make a walking detour and must solve the problems on the ground.

Also, during the talks time was allocated for discussion and adoption of agreements for heads of law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
