Bishkek, June 22, 2022. /Kabar/. State Secretary of Kyrgyzstan Suyunbek Kasmambetov took part in the opening ceremony of the national holiday Ysyakh Olonkho as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR.
The event took place in Verkhnevilyuysky District of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
This holiday is dedicated to the Yakut heroic epic Olonkho, recognized as a masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005. During the celebration, the International Festival Meeting of UNESCO masterpieces on the Land of Olonkho took place with participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tyva, Yakutia and Altai.
The opening ceremony was followed by a meeting between State Secretary Suyunbek Kasmambetov and Head of the Republic of Sakha Aysen Nikolayev.
The sides discussed the current situation and prospects for further economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Sakha both within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and in a bilateral format.
Special attention was paid to the important role of prominent statesman and public figure Maksim Ammosov in the formation of Yakutia and the development of Kyrgyzstan.
In conclusion, the sides expressed hope for strengthening and expanding the Kyrgyz-Yakut relations in all areas of bilateral cooperation.
