Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov participated in the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian states, held yesterday, Nov. 15, 2019 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the issues of preparation for the Consultative Meeting of Leaders of Central Asian states, exchanging views on the agenda and topical issues of regional cooperation.
Kyrgyzstan’s FM drew attention to the importance of intensifying cooperation, aimed at the development of comprehensive trade and economic cooperation, ensuring security in the region and further consolidation of joint efforts to counter modern challenges and threats.
The Kyrgyz side also noted the importance of ensuring environmental security, and in this context, stressed the need for effective coordination of efforts of all countries in the region in addressing the melting of glaciers and uranium tailings, located in the territory of Central Asian countries.
