Meeting of CIS Council of Heads of Government to be held by videoconference

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . A regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will held on Friday in the format of videoconferencing, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan said.

During the virtual meeting, CIS heads of government will exchange opinions on topical issues of economic cooperation within the CIS, discuss the reclamation of territories affected by uranium mining, development of rail transport, and consider cooperation of CIS member states in protection of copyright and related rights in information and telecommunication networks.

A number of documents are planned to be signed as a result of the meeting, including an agreement on cooperation for the protection and defense of rights to objects of copyright, as well as approval of a draft action plan for the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2022.

The meeting of CIS Heads of Government was to be held in Bishkek in the face-to-face format. Due to the worsening epidemiological situation in a number of CIS countries, it was decided to hold the meeting via videoconferencing.
