Tashkent, Oct. 17, 2024. /Kabar/. A delegation from Kyrgyzstan headed by Deputy Minister of Justice Iskender Sydygaliev is taking part in the 18th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Justice of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Tashkent.
The participants are discussing a wide range of issues covering aspects of legal education in the Commonwealth, including legal education of youth, improving the quality of legal service of public authorities in the field.
Addressing the meeting, Iskender Sydygaliev noted that each of the CIS countries faces unique challenges, but only through dialog and cooperation can the most effective solutions be found.
“Today we have a unique opportunity to strengthen our ties, exchange best practices and create a platform for further productive interaction. I am confident that our dialog will lead to new achievements and become an important milestone on the way to our common goals,” he said.
During the meeting, the plan of the Council's main activities for 2025 and the draft agenda of the 19th meeting were approved. In particular, along with the meetings of working groups and bodies of the Council in 2025 it is planned to hold the 4th International Legal Forum “Tashkent Law Spring”, which provides for the organization of internships for representatives of notaries, a series of webinars for interns and young lawyers of the CIS member states.
Experts noted that the results of the Tashkent meeting may become a catalyst for further changes in the CIS legal system. The adopted decisions will have an impact on the development of legislation, law enforcement practice and institutional interaction both within the countries and in the international arena.
CIS Council of Ministers of Justice was established by the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of State in 2005. It was signed by five states - Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
