Meeting of CIS Youth Interparliamentary Assembly held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2023. / Kabar/. A meeting of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) was held today in Bishkek, as part of the autumn session of the Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The meeting was attended by young deputies of the national parliaments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as leaders of youth parliaments, public organizations and associations of member states of the IPA CIS, the IPA CIS Secretariat reported.

One of the key issues on the agenda was the topic of information security for young people on the Internet. The parliamentarians shared their experience in ensuring the information security of young people in their countries, and also heard information about the activities of the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Information Threats among Youth.

Deputy Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy Dastan Bekeshev and Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Tagaev presented the experience of Kyrgyzstan in the development of youth parliamentarism.

The meeting participants will discuss the holding of an International Youth Translation Competition dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language as a Language of Interethnic Communication in the CIS.

Young parliamentarians will discuss work plans for the next year, including holding the Year of Volunteerism in the CIS in 2024.

In addition, the meeting participants will consider proposals to submit for award the honorary badge “For Contribution to International Youth Cooperation” - an award established by the Council of the IPA CIS on the initiative of the IPA CIS.

In conclusion, the participants of the Youth Assembly will summarize the work for 2022-2023.
