Bishkek, May 17, 2023. / Kabar /. A bilateral meeting of delegations led by Akim of Batken region Uchkunbek Zhorobaev from Kyrgyzstan and Chairman of Isfara region B. Bahodurzoda from Tajikistan was held in Batken region, on the border of the Kyrgyz village of Ak-Sai and the Tajik village of Vorukh.
The Batken regional administration reported that the meeting was also attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, State Institution "Cadastre" and other relevant government agencies.
The meeting discussed issues of ensuring security at the border, preventing uncoordinated construction work on disputed sections of the border, issues of irrigation, drinking water, facilities currently under construction, as well as economic issues, the report said.
The sides also agreed to take measures to prevent provocations at the border.
The socio-political situation on the border is stable.
