Meeting of first Interstate Council between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan held in narrow format

Bishkek, Oct. 11, 2022 / Kabar /. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting of the first Interstate Council in narrow format.

The two presidents discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani bilateral cooperation, prospects for their further development.

Sadyr Zhaparov stressed with satisfaction that today bilateral cooperation between the countries has reached the level of strategic partnership.

He noted the dynamically strengthening and expanding ties, which led to active interaction between the parliaments, governments and sectoral departments of the two countries.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that this visit and the holding of the first meeting of the Interstate Council would give a new impetus to bilateral relations. This will be a clear indicator of the active development of cooperation between the two countries in the political, trade and investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

He stressed that a number of April agreements during his visit to Azerbaijan were put into practice through the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, a Business Council was created, a school named after Heydar Aliyev and the Friendship Park of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan will be opened jointly.

Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is committed to systematic and long-term cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan and is ready for serious cooperation in strategic sectors.

In turn, Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov for the warm welcome and hospitality in the Kyrgyz land.

He noted that he remembers with great warmth the visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Azerbaijan.

According to him, such dynamics of relations suggests that the two countries are determined to build up the potential for mutual cooperation.

During the visit to Azerbaijan, a Declaration on Strategic Partnership was signed, which brought bilateral relations to a new level.

Ilham Aliyev is confident that after his visit to Kyrgyzstan, agreements will also be reached that contributes to deepening cooperation in many areas.

He noted that the Azerbaijani side expresses its readiness to work together to increase bilateral trade, the figures of which cannot currently satisfy both sides.

The President of Azerbaijan stressed that the outlined plans will allow increasing the volume of mutual trade in a short period of time. Azerbaijan is also interested in the implementation of investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.

Further, the meeting of the Interstate Council continues in an expanded format, after which the parties will sign a number of bilateral documents.
