Meeting of heads of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan and Sughd region of Tajikistan held

Bishkek, Feb, 3, 2023 / Kabar/. Governor of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan Abdikarim Alimbaev met with the head of the Sughd region of Tajikistan Rajabboy Ahmadzoda.

The meeting of the parties took place on February 2 in the Leilek region on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The meeting was also attended by the heads of law enforcement agencies of both sides, akims of districts, heads of the border services of the Kyrgyz Republic Ularbek Sharsheev and Tajikistan Rajabali Rahmonali.

The parties discussed the situation on the border, and then agreed on three issues:

- the solution of problems arising in the border areas, only through negotiations;

- holding joint events in 2023;

- carrying out explanatory work among residents living near the border.
