Meeting of Interdepartmental Commission on dev’t of border areas with special status

Bishkek, Feb.26, 2020./Kabar/. A meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Commission on implementation of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On giving special status to certain border areas with special status and their development” was held today, Feb.26.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akram Madumarov.

The action plan for implementation of the State Program for ensuring the security and social and economic development of certain border areas with special status in the period 2018-2020 includes 33 activities, for which the budget allocated KGS 296.25 million.

During the meeting of the Working Commission topical issues of the State Program implementation were discussed.

"This State Program is important to us. First of all, it is the issues of ensuring security, social and economic development of border areas, which are a priority for the Government.

Therefore, there is importance to ensure the qualitative implementation of this plan of activities in full, the welfare of the population living in border areas with special status depends on it. The implementation of the relevant Law, resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh is under special control,” Deputy PM Madumarov noted.

Proposals on updating the State Program were discussed, and a working group on the issue was established. The Working Commission also considered the proposals of 6 state bodies to include 18 settlements in the list of certain border areas with special status in the first stage.

The deputy PM gave a number of instructions to state bodies for timely and qualitative implementation of the activities, included in the State Program.
