Meeting of intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of Kyrgyz-Tajik state border to be held on May 1

Bishkek, April 30, 2021. / Kabar /. The meeting of the intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of state borders between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will take place on May 1, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saimumin Yatimov met on April 30 in a neutral territory between the Kyzyl-Bel checkpoint and the Guliston checkpoint.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of stabilizing the situation in the border areas of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. As a result, the sides expressed a desire and readiness to resolve all issues through negotiations and begin a mutual withdrawal of all types of troops and military equipment from the border territories of both countries to places of permanent deployment from 13:00 on April 30, 2021.

The sides also decided to hold a regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border on the territory of Batken Oblast of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 1, 2021.
