Bishkek, Jan.29, 2020. /Kabar/. The 7th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Austrian Joint Bilateral Commission on Foreign Economic Relations was held in Vienna (Austria), the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Finance Minister Baktygul Jeenbayeva, Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry of Digitalization and Economy of Austria Franz Wessig co-chaired from the Austrian side.
In accordance with previously reached agreements on priority areas of cooperation, and the agreed agenda of the meeting, the delegations included heads and deputies of state bodies of both countries.
During the meeting, the sides held improved information-sharing on the current economic situation, the state and development of bilateral economic relations.
Discussing the agenda items, each member of the Kyrgyz delegation made a report and presentation in order to find common ground with Austrian partners to develop promising joint projects for their further implementation in Kyrgyzstan.
Co-Chairwoman from the Kyrgyz part Baktygul Jeenbayeva paid special attention to the possibilities of cooperation in digitalization.
She reported on the tasks that Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has set before the Government, and the measures taken by state bodies of the country to implement them.
Both sides discussed with interest the potential for cooperation in the field of energy (hydropower and renewable energy), infrastructure and transport, education, agriculture and food processing, mining and tourism.
The 7th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Austrian Joint Bilateral Commission on Foreign Economic Relations has resulted in signing of Protocol.
Co-Chairwoman from the Kyrgyz part, Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktygul Jeenbayeva thanked her Austrian counterpart and all participants for their joint successful work, and proposed to hold the next regular 8th meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
