Meeting of Kyrgyz-Indian Intergovernmental Commission held in New Delhi

Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2018. / Kabar /. An important event was held in New Delhi, India on Nov. 15-16 to intensify the Kyrgyz-Indian trade and economic relations, which resulted in signing the Protocol of the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The meeting was chaired by Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Kosmosbek Cholponbayev and Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India Suresh P. Prabhu.

During the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the issues of mutual cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, agriculture, health care and pharmaceuticals, information technology and e-government, environmental and technical security, culture, information, tourism, textile and clothing industry, entrepreneurship, banking, labor and social development, mining, as well as standardization, metrology and certification were discussed.

The sides agreed to take necessary measures to increase the interaction of exporters and importers of the Parties and expand the trading basket. The parties agreed to increase the supply of agricultural products to the markets of the two countries. The Kyrgyz side has initiated the issue of creating joint food and processing enterprises of crop and livestock products for export to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries.

The parties expressed their willingness to cooperate on telemedicine issues. The Kyrgyz side initiated cooperation in a number of areas in the health sector, including the implementation of PPP projects, the creation of joint ventures, and the provision of treatment benefits to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who need to conduct operations using high-tech equipment.

The tenth meeting of the Kyrgyz-Indian intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation will be held in Bishkek.
