Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2018. /Kabar/. A meeting of the heads of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev and Tajikistan Ramazon Rakhimzoda was held in Dushanbe.
The press service of the Ministry reported that a number of issues that require more attention, including the interaction of the internal affairs bodies of the border regions in ensuring public order and fighting crime were discussed at the meeting. In addition, one of the main issues was strengthening of cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.
In his speech, Dzhunushaliyev stressed that today there is a high level of mutual understanding and cooperation between the ministries of the two neighboring republics. “In recent years, thanks to the interaction and coordinated joint actions of the units of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, active members of international extremist and terrorist organizations have been detained. It is necessary to further strengthen the joint work of the ministries to develop mechanisms aimed at combating crime, drug trafficking, preventing threats of extremism and terrorism,” he said.
At the meeting of the heads of the ministries, a wide range of issues related to ensuring public order in the border regions of the republics were discussed, and a number of other issues of mutual interest were also raised. It was noted that the countries are linked with long-term law enforcement partnerships; the measures taken will help strengthen the rule of law and reduce crime in neighboring territories. The head of the ministry also familiarized himself with the experience of his counterparts from Tajikistan in the implementation of the Safe City project.
Dzhunushaliyev expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and stressed that he would make every effort to expand and strengthen cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two neighboring republics.
