Meeting of Presidents of EAEU member countries kicks off in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Dec. 6, 2018. / Kabar /. St. Petersburg hosts a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The meeting of the leaders of the member countries of the union has begun traditionally with the ceremonies of a handshake and joint photography.

The heads of state arrived in alphabetical order in the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library on Senate Square, where the meeting takes place.

As previously reported, the meeting of the heads of the EAEU member states is chaired by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The leaders will discuss the current issues of the organization and summarize the work for 2018.

In addition, the meeting will identify areas for further deepening Eurasian integration in areas such as mutual trade, energy, the digital economy.

The agenda will also include issues of the Union’s international work, including competition in cross-border markets.

After the official part, an informal meeting of the presidents a cultural program is planned - a visit to the Nutcracker ballet at the Mariinsky Theater.
