Bishkek, April 19, 2024 / Kabar/. The sixth meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan held in Astana.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is not just a neighbor for Kazakhstan, but a fraternal country and an important strategic partner. Based on common history and spiritual values, the peoples of the two countries have deep ties, which serve as the basis for the further development of cooperation between the two countries.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that during the talks in a narrow format, the common goal of strengthening and developing relations between the two countries was confirmed.
Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the humanitarian assistance provided in connection with the accident at the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant, and expressed his readiness to support fraternal Kazakhstan in connection with the ongoing large-scale floods in a number of regions of the country.
The head of state expressed confidence that the results of the sixth meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan will contribute to the establishment of a new qualitative level of development of interstate relations. He expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen and expand in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.
During the meeting, the heads of state of the two countries heard reports from relevant government bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in various areas, such as trade and investment, transport and transit, water and energy, as well as culture.
As a result of the negotiations, the following documents were signed:
1. Agreement on deepening and expanding allied relations;
2. Decision of the Interstate Council;
3. Protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental Agreement on checkpoints across the state border, signed on December 25, 2003;
4. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the promotion and mutual protection of investments;
5. Joint Action Plan (Road Map) for the development of automobile checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border;
6. Memorandum of understanding by the State Agency for the Protection of Personal Data under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
7. Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the State Agency for Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
