Bishkek, April 3 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Embassy in the United States and Canada with the assistance of the US-Kyrgyz Business Council conducted presentation of Kyrgyzstan's investment and financial opportunities on March 31, in Washington.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that, the event was attended by leaders and representatives of about 30 major American companies, including founders-members of the US-Kyrgyz Business Council Baker & McKenzie, General Electric and AGCO, representatives of the World Bank, IMF, ADB, EBRD, the US Government and others.
"During the meeting, Kyrgyz Ambassador to the United States and Canada, Kadyr Toktogulov, told about the investment climate, economic opportunities and export potential of Kyrgyzstan, including our country's membership in the WTO and the EEU, as well as comparative advantages of the geographic location of the Kyrgyz Republic," the report said.
Within the framework of the event, the participants of the meeting discussed in detail the possible investments of American companies into the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of international financial institutions expressed readiness for credit support of possible investments of American companies into the economy of Kyrgyzstan in order to promote the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States.
Following the meeting, members of the US-Kyrgyz Business Council announced their plans to visit Kyrgyzstan in July this year to host a Kyrgyz-American business forum, as well as to better understand the investment potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The US-Kyrgyz Business Council, established in 2016, is a non-profit and non-governmental structure aimed at promoting trade and investment ties between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States.
