MES and OSCE Program Office in Bishkek sign action plan for cooperation in 2021

Bishkek, March 2, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Emergency Situations (MES) of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Azhikeyev met with the head of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, Ambassador Pierre von Arx.

According to the press service of the ministry, during the meeting the sides discussed issues of further cooperation and summed up the jointly achieved results.

The Kyrgyz minister thanked the OSCE for the assistance provided in the fight against COVID-19 and comprehensive support in increasing the capacity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and emphasized active and fruitful cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction.

During the meeting, the sides signed an action plan for cooperation for 2021.

In order to increase the efficiency of decision-making, increase the potential of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, the OSCE provided the ministry with computer equipment free of charge.

For his invaluable contribution in the field of disaster risk reduction and assistance in the prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergencies, Azhikeyev awarded OSCE Ambassador Pierre Von Arks the ministry’s medal for Strengthening Civil-Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
