Mini-hydro power plant put into operation in Kyshtut village of Kyrgyzstan

Osh, Aug. 19, 2022 / Kabar /. A mini-hydroelectric power station was put into operation in the village of Kyshtut of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region.

Timur Madyarov, deputy plenipotentiary representative of the president in Batken region, representatives of local authorities and villagers took part in the opening ceremony of the mini-hydroelectric power station.

The capacity of the mini HPP is 10 MW, its estimated cost is 7 million US dollars. The construction of the HPP was started in 2021 by a private entrepreneur Kalpaev.

It is expected that the mini-hydro power plant will provide electricity to the villages of Gaz, Kyshtut, Charbak, Sogment and Tayan.
