Minister Aidarbekov stresses importance of German investments in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 21, 2019. /Kabar/. Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov noted the importance of attracting German investments in the economy of Kyrgyzstan at a meeting with Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations/German Eastern Business Association Michael Harms in Berlin.

During the meeting, the sides focused on the expansion of the Kyrgyz-German economic cooperation. Both sides noted the importance of joint preparation of a business forum in the framework of the upcoming high-level bilateral visit to Germany. In this regard, an agreement was reached on the coordination of efforts through diplomatic channels.

The meeting took place the day before in Berlin, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations was founded in 1952 as a collective body of a number of major associations of business unions of Germany. More than 400 large companies and associations of Germany are members of the Committee. The Committee represents the interests of German companies in the markets of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Central Asia, the Caucasus and Southeast Europe. In March 2018, the German Eastern Business Association joined the Committee.
