Bishkek, Dec.9, 2024. /Kabar/. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev held a meeting with Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen.
The meeting was dedicated to the completion of Du Dewen’s diplomatic mission, the Economy Ministry’s press service reported.
The minister congratulated his interlocutor on the successful completion of the mission and noted her significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations, which were strengthened due to her efforts and support from leaders of the two countries.
Daniyar Amangeldiev emphasized the importance of the implemented joint projects during the period of the ambassador’s work, including:
- signing of the Agreement on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad;
- opening of direct flights to Beijing, Xi'an, Urumqi and Chengdu;
- launch of a new Bedel checkpoint on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and PRC;
- start of construction of the Barskoon-Uchturfan-Aksu road through the Bedel checkpoint;
- opening of the Dzhunda plant in the town of Kara-Balta, Chui Oblast;
- the start of construction of the Manas trade and logistics city.
The economy minister of Kyrgyzstan also noted the growth in trade turnover between the countries, which tripled between 2019 and 2023, highlighting the importance of bilateral economic cooperation.
“Both sides need to develop cooperation in the financial sphere to simplify operational procedures between investors, trade missions and business structures. The importance of opening laboratories in the Kyrgyz Republic and the need for in-depth cooperation with the provinces of China were also emphasized,” he said.
Concluding the meeting, Daniyar Amangeldiev expressed his gratitude to Du Dewen for her fruitful work and wished her success in future professional activities.
