Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer as part of the participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
Kulubaev informed the ICRCpresidennt about the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border as a result of the armed aggression of Tajikistan during September 14-17 this year. The minister reiterated the commitment of the Kyrgyz Republic to de-escalation and the unchanging position on the need to resolve disputes between countries exclusively through political and diplomatic means.
The Kyrgyz minister said that at present Kyrgyzstan is faced with a priority task of fully restoring destroyed infrastructure and social facilities, residential buildings, as well as providing assistance to the families of affected citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In this regard, Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed hope for timely support of the ICRC mission in solving problems on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
