Minister of Economy and ADB Country Director for Kyrgyzstan discuss plans for cooperation

Bishkek, April 10 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev met on Monday with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director for the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Candice McDeigan.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Business Plan for the country's operations for 2018-2019, the opportunities and challenges for the current year, as well as the status of ADB-financed operations.

During the meeting, the Kyrgyz minister said that the Ministry highly appreciates the work that ADB is carrying out in the country, and also told about the new National Development Strategy until 2040, which is being prepared.

The minister also said that the adaptation period for joining the Eurasian Economic Union will last until 2020 and on this occasion stressed the importance of ADB's technical assistance in this direction.

In turn, Ms. Candice McDeigan said that the Business Plan for the country for the period 2018-2019 has been developed and informed on the current status of ADB projects and plans for the next period of cooperation.
