Bishkek, June 11, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Sanzhar Mukanbetov took part in the webinar of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the press service of the Ministry of Economy said.
In order to support the governments of Central Asian countries, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development conducted an analysis of the potential impact of COVID-19 on Central Asian countries, examining their strengths and weaknesses, and expressed a desire to share the experience of OECD countries with Central Asian states in relevant areas, which can help them in developing anti-crisis policies.
On June 10, 2020, the OECD leaders met with the heads of economic and foreign policy bodies of Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan in a video conference format.
This webinar made it possible to discuss the initial results of the work carried out by the OECD in the difficult conditions of the current crisis; as well as an opportunity to exchange useful experience in areas such as taxation, monetary policy, as well as employment and education, and plan a more coordinated regional course for economic recovery.
Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Sanzhar Mukanbetov took part in this video conference, discussing the most pressing issues in the economy during the spread of the coronavirus infection.
During the discussion, ministers of economies of the countries of Central Asia, including the Kyrgyz Republic made presentations. Mukanbetov noted achievements in the field of digitalization of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic through the use of information technologies and their active implementation in the private sector.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed hope for closer cooperation and the intention to actively use the video conferencing format in the future with a view to an effective and productive dialogue for solving global economic problems.
