Bishkek, March 12, 2021. / Kabar /. Within the framework of the state visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan, bilateral negotiations were held on topical issues in the field of education and science, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Within the framework of this visit, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev held a conversation with the head of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the Quality of Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Tashkenbaev. The main topic of the conversation was the elaboration and signing of an intergovernmental agreement on the recognition of educational documents. The sides agreed to create a working group and start working.
Also, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the allocation of 100 grant places to citizens of Kyrgyzstan to study in universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, Almazbek Beishenaliev also met with Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Toshkulov. Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on the development of the following areas of cooperation:
- Joint publications with the participation of foreign partners;
- Attracting the teaching staff of higher educational institutions to conduct classes in universities of both countries within the framework of academic mobility;
- Joint participation of Kyrgyz and Uzbek universities in Erasmus + projects, increasing the number of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan studying in universities of both countries;
- Exchange of experience on digitalization of education, implementation of digital education management systems to find high-tech solutions to new problems and challenges.
During the meeting, Almazbek Beishenaliev invited Toshkulov to visit Kyrgyzstan. A. Toshkulov agreed to pay a working visit to Kyrgyzstan.
