Minister of Labor and Social Development and ILO representatives discuss issues in the field of labor relations

Bishkek, Oct. 31, 2018. /Kabar/. Ulukbek Kochkorov, Minister of Labor and Social Development, met with Lejo Sibbel, representative of the Decent Work Technical Support Team and the Country Office in Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further bilateral cooperation in the field of labor, labor relations and labor protection.

In addition, the conclusions and recommendations of the International Labor Organization regarding labor legislation in Kyrgyzstan were voiced.

It was also noted that in 2019 the 100th anniversary of the ILO will be celebrated, and in the framework of the Global Initiative entitled “Future in the Sphere of Labor”, the ministry is planning to hold a number of events together with the ILO.

Following the meeting, the Minister assured that he would make every effort to improve labor legislation, including the development of social partnership in the system of labor relations.

“We need to contribute to raising the standard of living of the population, to ensure employment and decent working conditions for citizens,” he said.
