Ministers of Education of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discuss cooperation in education

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdieva and Minister of Education of Russia Olga Vasilieva discussed issues of cooperation in the field of education.

At the ministerial meeting held in Moscow during the working visit of Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdieva, issues of cooperation in various areas, including advanced training and textbook adaptation were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

“Kyrgyzstan has always considered Russia a strategic partner and is ready to actively cooperate with it in the field of education. In particular, adaptation of textbooks in the mathematical and natural science educational fields, as well as the issues of raising the qualifications of teachers, are of particular interest to our country,” Kudaiberdieva noted.

Vasilieva said that there is a growing interest in the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan.

“In recent years, interest in the Russian language has increased in Kyrgyzstan, which has affected the visit to the educational portal of Russia – more than 37 thousand people use its materials. Only in the last 2 years, the number of students in Kyrgyzstan participating in academic competitions in the Russian language has increased 3-fold – from 70 to 200 people,” she said.

The meeting participants also discussed the organization of training sites for migrant children and the possibility of more active collaboration to improve the skills of teachers.
