Ministry of Education on the number of Kyrgyz students in Russia and Russian citizns in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Mar. 26, 2019. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic told how many Kyrgyzstanis study in Russia.

According to the ministry, since 1992, the Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the ministries of education of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation has been in force, in accordance with which the issues of equivalence of educational and qualification documents; individual admission of citizens of the states to educational institutions; the establishment and development of direct links between educational institutions and scientific organizations, etc are regulated.

Currently, 15,8 thousand citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are studying in Russian universities, of which 6,6 thousand – at the expense of the federal budget.

The largest number of Kyrgyz students study at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, St. Petersburg National University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, and St. Petersburg State University.

In turn, 1,580 citizens of Russia are currently studying in the Kyrgyz Republic. The largest number of Russian students study at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin, Osh State University, Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Razzakov, Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture named after Isanov.
