Ministry of Health calls seasonal growth of pneumonia among children

Bishkek, Feb. 17, 2021 / Kabar /. Director of the National Center for the Protection of Mothers and Children, Pr. Kamchibek Uzakbaev, noted that there is a seasonal increase in pneumonia and flu among children.

He told Kabar Agency that 150-250 children with pneumonia are registered every year in winter. This year, the coronavirus infection has also been added.

“It cannot be said that the epidemiological situation in the country is deteriorating. At the moment, 136 children are in the Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, the condition of the majority is of moderate severity, 6 children are in intensive care, their condition is also stabilizing every day. Most young patients receive treatment at home. 32 children were hospitalized yesterday. But don't panic, these are seasonal indicator among children,” Uzakbaev said.
