Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan and WHO sign Country Cooperation Strategy until 2030

Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2023. / Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Health Organization signed the first 7-year Country Cooperation Strategy until 2030.

According to the ministry's press service, the document includes three strategic directions and seven priority areas.

The strategy focuses on strengthening primary health care and improving access to health services in areas such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, immunization and maternal, newborn and child health.

“Particular attention will be paid to cardiovascular diseases, mental health, emergency response, antimicrobial resistance, environmental health and chemical safety, attracting human resources to rural areas, and issues of data digitalization,” the department said.

This Strategy will be synchronized with the national health development program until 2030 “A healthy person is a prosperous country.”

The signing ceremony was attended by WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, WHO Representative in Kyrgyzstan Liviu Vedrasco and Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev.
