Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2018. / Kabar /. Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Kashkar Dzhunushaliev arrived in Tajikistan on Nov. 28 for working visit. Within the framework of the visit, Dzhunushaliev met with Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, where a number of issues on the interaction of the internal affairs agencies of the two countries were discussed.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Minister Dzhunushaliev met today with director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherkhon Salimzoda.
The main purpose of this meeting was to sign the Agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan, as well as discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.
Dzhunushaliev, speaking at the event, stressed the importance of signing this Agreement for both countries.
“In order to improve legislation in the field of countering drug-related crime, taking effective measures aimed at combating drug trafficking, today we are signing an agreement that will improve our joint work for the benefit of the people of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. I am confident that, given the wide experience of the Drug Control Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and the geographical proximity of our states with Afghanistan, this Agreement will further enhance the level of our cooperation aimed at closing the channels of drug trafficking, conducting joint operational and preventive measures, exchange of information and experience,” he said.
At the end of the meeting, the sides signed agreements on cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and their precursors. The agreement was signed with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation and increasing the effectiveness of the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
On the same day, during his working visit, the Minister of Internal Affairs familiarized himself with the work of the anti-drug agency, visited the Dog Training Center of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
