Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2020 / Kabar /. In the construction season of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic has begun a full-scale construction work of the Bishkek-Osh highway, the section with a length of 67 km in Jalal-Abad Oblast.
In 2019, the general contractor completed the development of a detailed project, and received a positive conclusion from the state expertise. In the 2020 construction season, full-scale construction work has begun, during which about 7 km of asphalt concrete pavement was laid, as well as about 10 km of the road base. The total development of the project reaches about 8%.
The project provides for the reconstruction of a motor road from Madaniyat village to Jalal-Abad city with a length of 67 kilometers, as well as the construction of 4 large and 5 small bridges. The goal of the project is to increase throughput and reduce accidents on the road section, the report said.
It is noted that the improvement of the road network after the implementation of the project will play a key role in the overall economic growth and social development of the region, especially for connecting the rural population with urban centers in order to have access to services and trade in local and regional markets.
The amount of the contract, taking into account additional work - USD 64.4 million.
