Tashkent, Dec. 8, 2021 . / Kabar / . In his address to the nation on 29th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed amendments to the basic law, his press service reported.
It would define the basis for the development of the family institution, "bringing traditional human values to future generations, further strengthening interethnic harmony in the country," reflecting the issues of preventing child labor, protecting the rights of the disabled and the elderly, as well as climate issues.
The Uzbek leader said the adoption of the updated basic law in 2022, during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, "will be a matter worthy of the traditions of our national statehood, reflecting the interests of the people”.
He noted that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic worldwide, including in Uzbekistan, the celebrations dedicated to the Constitution Day will not be held this year. "
Despite this, this holiday fills our hearts with joy," Mirziyoyev added.
